- The Bodhi Building is a short walk to the Hot Tub, Sauna and seasonal Pool. The rooms offer a calm space to unplug and relax in an area surrounded by big trees, nature and an array of wildlife.
The room has cork flooring, desk, a closet, and a bookcase or shelf with a few books for your reading pleasure. When fresh flowers are available, we enjoy placing them in the rooms.

Each room has cork flooring, desk, a closet, and a bookcase or shelf with a few books for your reading pleasure. When fresh flowers are available, we enjoy placing them in the rooms.
- Our stand-alone eco-cabins feature cedar siding, bamboo floors, and birch furniture, and include a loft bed with down pillows, desk, table, standing closet, and a covered porch. These cozy cabins are nestled in a wooded section at the lower portion of the property.
The Bungalow Bathhouse is just steps away with an outdoor private shower and double vanity sink. A two-minute walk down the path leads to an indoor Bathhouse with two sides, each featuring a toilet and 2 showers. A coin-operated laundry room is attached to the Manzanita Bathhouse. Across from the indoor Bathhouse is a Community Kitchen with an oven, coffee maker, toaster, blender, cookware, dishes, cutlery, and a full-size fridge with freezer.

- These stand-alone tiny cabins are located in the heart of the property. The Cabinettes are simply furnished with a twin bed, down pillows, standing closet, shelves, desk, chair, and a small covered porch. Located near the Ceramics Studio Yurt.
Next to the Lodge is a Community Kitchen with a commercial fridge, oven, toaster, dishes, utensils, cookware, coffee maker, and blender for your use.
Bodhi sinks, toilets, showers and laundry room are just a few minutes walk away.

Just a short walk down a path is where you can store, prepare and cook your food at the Bodhi Community Kitchen. It has two ovens with stoves, a toaster, fridge and freezer, dishes, utensils, coffee makers, tables and chairs. The seasonal Pool, Hot Tub and Sauna, with both an indoor and outdoor shower and toilet, are located down the road behind the Lodge.

- This Sunrise room provides a desk, lighting, outlets, and bookcase.
Sunrise is located near the Straw Bale Meditation Temple.
The remodeled shared Sunrise bathroom has two toilets, two sinks, and two showers and is found when entering the central door of the Sunrise building.

When camping, you have access to Community Kitchens, shared showers, toilets, and laundry facilities.
Please bring your own camping gear (tent, sleeping bag, pillow, etc…) toiletries and towels.
Car camping is allowed in some areas. No hook ups available for RV’s. We do not recommend RV’s due to the roads to our location.
When you check in at the Welcome Center upon your arrival, we will help you find the best one suited to your needs.
The Community Kitchens all have a fridge, oven, stove, coffeemaker, blender, toaster, & cookware. Dishes, cups, and cutlery are also available for your use..

Heartwood is a remote retreat about an hour up a mountain road from Garberville—not a quick stop or "on the way" destination—so plan ahead for gas, groceries, and supplies before arriving. The road is accessible for most cars but can be challenging for low-clearance vehicles, large RVs, or in winter conditions, and arriving before dark is strongly recommended. Meals are only available on select dates, but shared kitchens are fully equipped if you need to cook. This is a rugged, nature-based setting, so come prepared with layers, good shoes, a flashlight, and essentials—and ideally stay more than one night to fully settle in and enjoy the experience.
