- Our stand-alone eco-cabins are perfect for artists, musicians, writers, and creatives to have their own space tucked away to think and make. The Bungalows feature cedar siding, bamboo floors, and birch furniture, and include a loft bed with down pillows, desk, table, standing closet, and a covered porch. These cozy cabins are nestled in a wooded section at the lower portion of the property.
The Hot Tub, Sauna and Seasonal Saline Pool are a few minutes walk up hill, just behind the Main Lodge.

The Bungalow Bathhouse is just steps away with an outdoor shower and double vanity sink. A two-minute walk down the path leads to an indoor Manzanita Bathhouse with two sides, each featuring a toilet and 2 showers. A coin-operated laundry room is attached to the Bathhouse. Across from the indoor Bathhouse is a Community Kitchen with an oven, coffee maker, toaster, blender, cookware, dishes, cutlery, and a full-size fridge with freezer. The are complimentary teas available 24 hours a day.

The Manzanita Rooms are tucked away in a secluded, wooded section of the lower property, surrounded by trees and nature. Our eco-remodeled rooms feature two twin beds, cork flooring, simple furnishings, a desk or bookshelf, lighting, and down pillows. A covered wraparound walkway surrounds the entire building, creating a peaceful space to relax and enjoy the natural surroundings.
The Manzanita Community Kitchen is located within the building and provides everything you need to prepare your own meals, including cookware, dishes, utensils, an oven, toaster, coffee maker, blender, and a full-size refrigerator with freezer. Complimentary teas are available 24 hours a day.
A shared bathhouse is located directly across from the building. The bathhouse has two separate sides, each with one toilet and two showers. A coin-operated laundry room is located behind the bathhouse and is available for guest use.

Just a short stroll down the hill, you’ll find the Main Lodge Community Kitchen, equipped with everything you need to prepare meals, including a commercial refrigerator, oven, coffee makers, blender, toaster, cookware, utensils, dishes, and a selection of spices.

Please bring your own camping gear, including a tent, sleeping bag, pillow, headlamp, and other essentials. Toiletries and towels are also required for use of the spa and bathing facilities.
Car camping is permitted in designated areas.
RV camping: There are no RV hookups available. Due to the roads leading to our location, RVs are not recommended.
When you arrive, please check in at the Welcome Center. Our staff will help you find the camping spot that best suits your needs.

Heartwood is tucked away in the mountains, about an hour beyond Garberville. Because we're intentionally off the beaten path, we recommend picking up fuel, groceries, and any personal essentials before making the drive.
The road is accessible for most passenger vehicles, though low-clearance cars, large RVs, and winter weather may require extra care. Whenever possible, plan to arrive before sunset so you can settle in comfortably and take in the beauty of the property.
Meals are available during select retreats and special events. If meals aren't included with your stay, our shared guest kitchens are fully equipped for preparing your own.
Mountain weather can change quickly, so we recommend bringing layers, comfortable walking shoes, a flashlight, and anything else you'll want during your time here.
A non-refundable deposit is required to reserve your stay. This deposit is applied toward the total cost of your reservation.
